The Sky Is Crying

It started raining late yesterday afternoon.

JB had mowed the immediate yard, as Jake lay on the porch complaining. If his legs were working, he would have found a vantage point on the hillside to oversee the operation. He's definitely not happy with the situation.

The vet had referred to Jake as a whiny dog. He assured us that
Jake was in no real pain and his cries were more from anxiety.

But isn't anxiety emotional pain?

Jake's been a lot more anxious the last 24 hours.
And now I'm beginning to feel his anxiety. What's next?

Anxiety about the future is now an everyday occurrence.
I wish I could make it go away.

I wish he would just get up already.

I'm so sorry that Jake is still doing poorly.

We got an abundance of rain here and it was just wonderful. I had already spent hours planting azaleas, transplanting daylilies, and putting in dozens of annuals. I watered and used the soaker hose, but the rain was definitely an added bonus.

Poor Jake. I hope that tomorrow he'll surprise you and trot over to his favorite vantage point.

Nobody likes to feel uncertain, confused and not ourself. No wonder the poor fellow is whining...

I've been told that I look and act just like my dog. My dog is thin and sleek and also an anxious whiner. Go figure. I hope your Jake is feeling better soon. The rain can make us all ache and keen a little.

Pshhhh. That vet doesn't seem to have good bedside manner, huh? Poor Jake. I always feel bad for animals; at least humans (even kids) can be told (and will understand) that pain is temporary, and that they will eventually heal. Even if one can communicate with one's pet, you can't quite get *that* message across.

I'm getting pretty sad with you. Hoping for the best, or at least some better.
